10/18/2004 -A Personal Note from Louise Henderson Flanigan
I attended the reunion and WOW what a wonderful time my sister, Barbara, and I had meeting the ASA members several who personally knew my husband Mike and shared fond memories with me.  It was awesome to see the fellowship amongst the guys and hear their funny army stories.  Not only did the men have fun but I know lots of spouses did too.  Thanks for your kindness and friendship to me.  Please keep your e-mails coming as that has helped me survive the loneliness after Mike's illness and death.  It was great meeting you face to face but there were so many (100) there that I still cannot put names/faces together but we had fun.  Thanks to each of you.

Comments from Attendees:

This past weekend in Williamsburg far exceeded anything I could have imagined.Thank you for all the work and organization that was put into making it such a success. I am thankful to have been a part of this group. May God continue to bless all of you and America! Bud and Carolyn LaFon

I am still thinking about the reunion. Hearing the different speakers brought back so many memories. I was happy to be part of the memorial service and the worship on the Lord's Day. The trip was certainly worth all that went on to make it an outstanding reunion. Thanks again to Jack Paugh for his unending labor. Pete Taylor

I had such a fantastic time at the Reunion I can't wait for the next one to be held some time in 2006. All of you vets who were unable to attend sure missed out on a great time. Be sure to get in touch with Jackie Paugh so you will be able to make sure you don't miss the next Reunion. I'm sure in a few months we will start getting info about possible time and places. Please make an effort to get there. I assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Yes, we were at the reunion in Williamsburg.  It was great.  Met our long time friends, Fred and Bev Turner, and was so good to renew friendships.  The Wilkins were there also from Wilson's Trailer Court in Kenai.  Would like to hear from any one else that lived @ Wilson's.  Thank you once again for all those that put this reunion together.  Know it was lots of work.  Betty & Jon

This past spring my cousins son joined the Army.  She was very much concered.
I told her that the 2nd best thing I ever did, was join the Army.  Thinking about what I had said, it occured to me that it was true. In May 2004 we traveled back to Wildwood Station.  Needless to say it was the 3rd best thing I ever did.  In October 2004 we attended the ASA Wildwood Station Reunion. YES YOUR RIGHT! IT WAS THE 4TH GREATEST EXPERIENCE.  What was number #1?  Getting married of course!  Wonderful job everyone. Dick Silvis

We thoroughly enjoyed the reunion, especially the stories about different events happening at Wildwood Station.  I do remember the comments "Buddy" Lafon made in reference to the integrity and honor taught and learned during those times and the necessity for the following generations to pass these ideals on to the next and so on.  I learned honesty, work ethics and integrity from my father and mother while a teenager and to this day, continue those teachings, passing them on to my daughters and son. These teachings were what I was brought up with, taught to me by loving Christian parents as well as their friends, many of you amoung them.  I respect the ideals that were taught to me by my parents, and, hopefully, will teach them to my children and they to theirs.  I credit your generation with the endearing quality of life that most of America enjoys today.  I salute you, one and all.  May God richly bless you and yours for the efforts you have put forth.

What a SUPERDOOPER time my wife and I had.  Renewing old acquaintances and making new friends.  Having the prayers, singing made it all great.  I certainly knew that God was among us.  Hats off to Jackie and all the others who made this special reunion so SPECIAL!!  I am a very nostalgic person and this really brought tears of joy to my eyes.  God bless all of you and I look forward, with great anticipation, to the next reunion.  Charles & Barbara Atkinson
